Tell me who you are and what you do.
Hello there everyone. My name is Thomas McCullagh. I am here to share my story about how I was able to overcome my deepest, darkest period of my life and how I manage with my mental health issues.
What is your passion. How did you get into it?
First thing, who am I?! Well i am a behavioral aid and education assistant by trade, which these occupations offer me the ability to work with children who struggle with learning and mental health issues. Both of these occupations are rewarding in a lot of ways to me. I am loving the fact that with what I do, gives me happiness and joy of doing an excellent service for those in need.
Let’s talk mental health and body image. If you have a story to share tell our readers what inspired you to get involved, how you have struggled and how you’ve succeeded and if you are still working on yourself tell us what you do on a regular basis to combat your own demons.
Here I share my story though this story note that I made about my struggles and mental health https://www.facebook.com/notes/mccullagh-tom/this-is-my-story-my-fight-to-the-journey-path-i-have-marched-upon/1206496496169382/
If you could tell your teenage self one thing what would it be?
If there is one thing I can tell my teenage self. “You will become what you seek. Your journey that you will partake, will be the journey you destined to seek long ago”.
Do you have a few favorites quotes that speak to how you feel on the topic?
There is one quote that I didn’t learn from reading a book, but one that I made into my own. • The past is the forgotten. The present & future is the “here and now”
Are you inspired by someone, a business, an organization etc?
One man who really and truly inspired me when I was growing up, without even knowing. He was my grandfather. He always had a heart of gold and went out of his way to help out others. To me, he was my hero. The phylosephoy that which I now bring into my life, and want to live it for the rest of my life.
